1920 to 1939 - What a Roaring Ride it Was...

In August of 1920, women were granted the right to vote in the USA. The twenties was the decade of bath tub gin, the model T, the $5 work day, the first transatlantic flight, and the first sound-on-film motion pictures. And in the thirties, the US suffered the Great Depression. Wow! What a ride to live through these times.

Paulette and her god parents moved from Los Angeles to South Pasadena. Paulette graduated from South Pasadena High School and went on to beauty college. She worked in Long Beach for a few years before opening her own beauty shop named "Paulette's" on Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood.

Paulette played on a baseball team (photo above). Look at those 1920's era short shorts! Wowee!
